Customizable compliance matrix tool helps you better manage your institution's compliance needs

Copyright woodleywonderworksURMIA continues to be a proud supporter of the National Association of College and University Attorneys' (NACUA) Higher Education Compliance Alliance website. The site turned five years old this month, and it continues to grow and evolve, thanks in part to the resources supplied by over 30 partnering organizations. Now NACUA is proud to release its new compliance matrix, an online tool that you can customize to best meet your institution's compliance needs. Read on to learn more about the compliance matrix and the many resources available through the Higher Education Compliance Alliance.

Putting the power of the compliance matrix to use for your institution

Since its initial launch, the NACUA Higher Education Compliance Alliance has been a great success with tens of thousands of users accessing hundreds of resources. One of the most used parts of the site is the customizable compliance matrix.

The compliance matrix provides users with a comprehensive list of federal laws and regulations governing colleges and universities that is sortable by topic or by approaching deadlines. While there are still more than 500 compliance resources available on the website, the matrix gives users access to an overview of the many laws covering higher education institutions. You can sort by reporting deadline or topic to meet your own institution's needs.

The matrix provides users with an easy to use rundown of each law or regulation, as well as links to further resources. The matrix includes the statute, associated regulations, a statutory summary, reporting requirements and deadlines, and additional resources. When sorted by deadline, higher education administrators can quickly view upcoming reporting requirements that might impact their institutions.

Additionally, users can now enter their e-mail addresses so they are notified when resources are updated on the site. Just enter your e-mail at the top of the Resources by Topic website, and hit subscribe.

Please note that NACUA is preparing to review and update the compliance matrix. If you would like to suggest content for the matrix or otherwise offer feedback regarding this resource, share your thoughts using the NACUA Contact Us tab. URMIA also regularly updates the content of our sections on the Higher Education Compliance Alliance, and we welcome you, our members, to provide us with feedback to make this robust tool even stronger.
