Red arrow  Listserv Guidelines: Institutional/Individual Membership

Members are welcome to post questions to the listserv on any risk management topic they find themselves in need of information on. The listserv does not accept attachments. Please contact the National Office e if you would like to share a document. The following rules apply to posting and responding to listserv questions.

  1. Eligible members may post to any of the three listserv services:

      (a message that affiliate members will not see - affiliate members cannot post to this list)
    • Click here to send a message to URMIA-Affil-L
      (a message that affiliate members can see - only affiliate members can post to this list)
    • Click here to send a message to URMIA-ALL-L
      (a message that everyone on either list can see - all members can post to this list)
  2. When responding to a listserv inquiry, reply ONLY to the individual who posted the question. Do not select “Reply All”.
  3. If you are the originator of a listserv question, it is your responsibility to summarize all responses, removing references to individuals, their institutions, or their employers as needed, and distribute the summary as a follow-up to the listserv solicitation.
  4. Many responses to listserv questions are archived on the URMIA web page and can be reviewed prior to posting a listserv inquiry.
  5. While the listserv is established using the institution's primary and deputy representatives, other people at your institution may join the listserv provided the following:
    • Individual works in a related field, e.g., environmental health and safety
    • Individual must have permission of their institution's primary representative

  1. The URMIA listserv is not to be utilized as a vehicle for sales solicitation. Anyone violating the sales solicitation rule may have their listserv rights revoked.
  2. Affiliates are welcome to respond to questions posted to the URMIA-all list.
  3. While not prohibited, affiliates should exercise discretion when posting questions to the listserv for institutional members.
  4. While the listserv is established using the affiliate member's primary and deputy representatives, other people at your organization may join the listserv provided the following caveats:
    • Individual must have permission of their primary representative

URMIA members are eligible to subscribe to either the institutional or the affiliate listserv based on their membership type. New members are automatically added to one of the lists. If you would like to join a list, use the links below:

Manage Your Settings

To manage your settings, click here.

If you would like to temporarily suspend your service or leave the list, please contact the URMIA National Office.

Tests

To see if the server is running, click here and send the message. If it is working, it will respond with "You're welcome!"

To see if you are subscribed, click here and send the message. If you are subscribed, it will respond with your subscription settings for all lists you are on. If you get an error message, then you have a subscription problem and need to contact the URMIA National Office.
