Richards Earns Second Professional Designation

Congratulations to Kelsey L. Richards, risk analyst for the West Virginia University Office of Risk Management and Insurance, who has been awarded the professional insurance designation Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) by The Institutes. She earned the designation by passing the examinations for the eight mandatory courses, as well as meeting The Institutes’ ethics and experience requirements. She will take part in a conferment ceremony in September. Kelsey has been employed by West Virginia University for more than five years. In addition to the CPCU designation, she holds the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation.

Hi Kelsey,

What a great accomplishment! Congratulations! There is good reason why only a very small number of insurance/risk management professionals have earned a CPCU.  I certainly hope the additional designation moves you closer to your career goals.

I am roughly half-way through the CPCU requirements, but took a brief detour to focus on earning the CRM designation. Maybe once the CRM is accomplished, I may look at attempting to finish the CPCU, so I might be reaching out to you for some study tips!

Kelsey,

Congratulations on earning your CPCU designation!  This is a tremendous achievement and I know you put a lot of study hours in obtaining this designation.
