Ann H. Franke, Esq., is a national expert on higher education legal and risk issues. Through her firm Wise Results LLC, she provides consulting services to colleges, universities, and associations. Her engagements have included major revisions to faculty and student policies, an academic freedom project funded by the Ford Foundation, and management of a client's year-long federal audit. She serves as outside counsel to a graduate-level institute. She has advised campuses on organizational development, conducted training, and evaluated the academic support services for student-athletes in a Division I program.Ms. Franke began her career in higher education law in 1982 with the American Association of University Professors. She regularly counseled the association's governing bodies and handled academic freedom projects of national significance. In 1997, Ms. Franke joined United Educators Insurance. She led UE's risk management department, served on the senior management team, and rose to the post of vice president for national issues and chief knowledge officer.The National Association of College and University Attorneys named Ms. Franke a Fellow in 2005 for her distinguished contributions to higher education law. She earned her bachelor's, master's, and law degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and has a master's of laws from Georgetown University. Through a Fulbright award, she studied the development of private universities in Australia.
