Never Been Without a Phone: Millennials, Distractions, and Challenges to Safety on Campus

When:  Feb 12, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM (ET)
We’ve all seen students texting while driving, crossing the street against the light while looking down at their cell phones, or talking on their phones while carding into a building without noticing the person piggybacking through the door. Building a safety culture on campus with a generation that has never known life without a smartphone, without access to texting, or without social media is hard. Attendees will:
1. Understand the impact of cell phone distractions on campus safety
2. Identify resources for increasing awareness of distracted driving/walking
3. Learn best practices and policies for managing the hazards related to cell phone distractions
