Sypress Davis, ARM is the Director of Risk Management for the University of Miami, a private research university serving more than 19,000 students from around the world and engaged in $413 million in research and sponsored program expenditures annually. Upon joining the university’s risk management team in September 2021, she began to manage the day-to-day operations of the risk management program for the University enterprise, including risk analysis, risk treatment, claims and insurance functions. Her primary responsibilities include reviewing contracts, identifying solutions for daily risk concerns, and responding to inquiries from across the enterprise. Prior to this position, she spent over 20 years with United Educator, RRG in various roles including Senior Underwriter where she analyzed the insurance programs of doctoral research extensive institutions and negotiated insurance contracts. She has earned the professional designation of Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and her B.S. from the Elizabeth City State University in Accounting.
