Raffle to Support Scholarships


The URMIA Raffle is a favorite tradition! We invite registrants attending in Seattle to donate items and purchase tickets. Proceeds support professional scholarships for first-time URMIA conference attendees.


Donating Items

In-person attendees are invited to donate items to the raffle. Typical donations include logo items from schools and organizations (e.g., golf shirts/balls, sweatshirts, hats, t-shirts, jackets, stuffed animals, electronics, and handbags) and other items conference attendees would find valuable.

As you select items to donate, please keep size, weight, and fragility in mind. If you can’t pack your donation, the winner probably wouldn’t be able to either. URMIA will not ship raffle prizes. If you have any questions, please contact Teresa Ransdell in the National Office.

If you choose to ship your donated items to the Sheraton Grand Seattle hotel, please carefully read the hotel's shipping instructions and handling fees to understand and minimize your costs.


Drop-off Location

Bring your donations to the Raffle Table outside Willow Room B as early in the conference as possible. This will give attendees maximum opportunity to bid on your contributions.


Drawings

We will draw for a set of prizes 5-6 times starting Monday afternoon through Tuesday at 4:00 pm. A final drawing of the most popular items will be held during the last general session on Wednesday.

Purchasing Raffle Tickets

Location

You may purchase as many tickets as you wish at the Raffle Table (outside Willow Room B) during scheduled Registration hours.

Price

Raffle tickets are $1 each. We can only accept cash for the purchase of raffle tickets.

Prepare Your Tickets

Write your name and cell phone number on each ticket.Tickets without identification will be disqualified.

 

Pro Tip

Bring pre-printed labels to affix to your tickets.

 

Visit the Raffle & Sponsor Area

Raffle items will be on display in the Raffle & Sponsor Area outside of Willow Room B. This area will be available during "Conference Registration Open" times posted on the schedule.

Make a Bid

To bid on an item, tear off the half of your ticket with your contact information and place one or more of these in the bag beside that item. Please retain your ticket stubs.

 

Winners

Winners will be announced on a board in the Raffle & Sponsor Area, as well as posted in the event app throughout the conference.

 

Pick Up Prizes by 5 pm Tuesday

All prizes must be picked up before registration closes at 5:00 pm Tuesday, October 19. Any prizes not retrieved by this deadline will be added to the live drawing held during Wednesday’s final general session. Participants in the live drawing must be present to win.
