Emerging from the Storm

The conference planning committee looks forward with great excitement to emerging from the storm of the COVID-19 crisis and being together again for our annual conference in Seattle in October! In addition to the in-person experience, we are offering a selection of virtual components for those who may not be ready or able to travel.

This hybrid model will be informed by our 50 years of conference experience and by all that we have learned in successfully delivering virtual conferences and other professional development during the past year. As an association of risk managers, we also are prepared to transition to a completely virtual conference if circumstances necessitate.

The in-person experience will include everything you anticipate: welcoming pre-conference events, amazing keynote sessions, rich educational content, lively receptions, informal networking opportunities, plentiful food service, and upscale hotel accommodations in the heart of a vibrant city.

Ensuring Your Safety

Please review these important safety protocols.

Conference leaders are committed to providing you a safe environment and clean facilities during the event. We are constantly monitoring changing restrictions and protocols from all levels of government that might impact the conference, and we are devising attendee safety plans with our host hotel. Additionally, an experienced URMIA risk manager from our community will be on call to address safety concerns, if any, during the conference.

Protecting Your Investment

If you register for the in-person conference and are unable to attend for a covered reason, our Inability to Attend insurance will provide a full registration refund per the terms of the policy’s coverage. Additionally, our host hotel will allow you to cancel your room without penalty up to 48 hours before your arrival.

If URMIA is unable to hold the conference in Seattle, your registration will automatically convert to a registration for an entirely virtual conference to be held at a future date.

Can’t Come to Seattle?

Our goal is to create a top-notch, engaging event to enrich your professional development regardless of how you attend. We are excited to offer—for the first time ever—a real-time, virtual experience for you and up to 9 other employees at your organization. This  registration option will grant individuals access to several live conference sessions online and recordings of those sessions after the conference ends. We hope you will join us for URMIA’s 52^nd annual conference, preferably in person, but if that is not possible then from wherever you might find yourself on October 16-20.
