Effective August 1, 2023, Mark moved to a part-time position in risk management titled Senior Risk Specialist at the University of Southern Indiana (USI). Prior to this change, Mark was the Director of Risk Management at USI and has served the University of Southern Indiana (USI) since November 2017. In his part-time role, Mark is working with the new Assistant Director of Risk Management and retaining specific duties for transition at a later date. As Director, Mark was responsible for handling all non-employee insurance (including athletic accident insurance) and risk management functions, served as traffic appeals committee chair, was a member of the COVID-19 operations and logistics committee, data governance strategic committee, ERM committee, and a safety committee member. Prior to USI, Mark served the University of Evansville (UE) for over 28 years as the Director, Administrative Services and Risk Management that oversaw risk management and insurance; worker's compensation, environmental, health and safety; purchasing, and other areas. Mark’s first two years at UE were as the assistant athletic director of operations. Mark served on various campus and strategic committees including chair of the risk management committee. Mark obtained a B.S. degree in business and his MBA from UE and earned his ARM designation in 2014. Mark has presented to URMIA regional and annual conferences, the USI board of trustees, UE's board of trustees, audit committee and senior management, EIIA advisory council, and many university classes. Mark volunteers with the YMCA Annual Campaign, Reitz Memorial High School Athletic Hall of Fame, Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Evansville East Youth baseball, and other organizations. Mark and Paula have been married 40 years and have four married daughters and eight grandchildren.
