Kevin Confetti is the Associate Vice President and Chief Risk Officer for the University of California. As AVP and Chief Risk Officer, Kevin leads the Office of the President Office of Risk Services that oversees a myriad of programs for UC’s ten campuses, six medical centers, the Berkeley National Laboratory, Agriculture & Natural Resources, and the Office of the President. Major initiatives and programs for the office of Risk Services include implementing Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), reducing the overall cost of risk, implementing systemwide loss prevention and mitigation programs, improving claims management systems, and developing risk financing strategies. Kevin also has oversight of the University’s Environmental, Health and Safety programs (EH&S), Security Risk & Resiliency programs, Risk Information Technology program, and the Student Health Insurance Plan (UCSHIP). Kevin also serves as President of Fiat Lux, the University’s wholly owned captive insurance company, as well as the University’s cell captives, Eureka, PCC, and Eureka One.
Kevin has over thirty years’ experience in insurance and risk management. He has worked with the University’s Risk Program since 2001 and has been an employee of the University since 2006. Kevin has a degree in Rhetoric & Communications from the University of California, Davis and is a certified Self-Insurance Administrator.
