Regional Conference Scholarships

Purpose

URMIA conferences offer attendees incredible value through continuing education, networking with peers, and connecting with businesses whose services and products support college and university risk management professionals. However, we understand that professional development budgets are tight, and some URMIA institutional members require financial assistance to attend a conference at this time.

Application Period is Closed

We are not accepting applications for regional conference scholarships at this time.

The application period for these scholarships generally opens around the first of the year.

Eligibility

Applicants/nominees must meet the following criteria.

  • The individual must be an URMIA institutional member through 2021. If you are not sure about an individual’s membership status, check the Member Directory or contact the National Office.
  • The individual is a full-time employee of a member institution, not a student assistant.
  • The individual’s job title and responsibilities are directly related to some aspect of higher education risk management.
  • The individual’s direct supervisor supports this opportunity.

Priority will be given to institutional members who have not had the opportunity to attend an URMIA conference in the past, though all who are eligible will be considered.

Awards

Eight full-conference scholarships for the 2021 Virtual Spring Conference are available. The award will be applied to cover each recipient’s registration fee (value: $115). Recipients will be selected by the members of the conference planning committees. All applicants/nominees will be notified on January 22.

Conditions

  • Those who accept this scholarship are not eligible to apply for another scholarship this year. However, recipients may apply for a 2022 or later conference scholarship.
  • Recipients will be asked to complete an attendee evaluation and provide a testimonial about their experience. Additional collaborations with scholarship winners may occur at the request and approval of both parties.
