Regional Conference Scholarships

We are not accepting applications for regional conference scholarships at this time.

The application period for these scholarships generally opens at the end of the year.

Purpose

URMIA offers educational conferences two times per year: regional conferences between February and May and the annual conference taking place in the September/October timeframe. These events offer attendees continuing education, networking, and opportunities to connect with businesses that work with college and university risk management and insurance professionals.

Regional conference scholarships are intended to assist URMIA institutional members who require financial assistance to attend their first URMIA conference. The scholarship covers the registration fee for one regional conference.

 

URMIA 2024 Regional Conference Series

 

Eligibility

Applicants and nominees must meet the following criteria:

  • The individual must be listed as a current URMIA institutional member through 2024. If you are not sure about the individual’s membership status, check the Member Directory or contact the National Office.

  • The individual’s status is as an employee of an institution and not as a student assistant.

  • The individual’s job title and responsibilities are directly related to some aspect of higher education risk management.

  • The individual’s direct supervisor supports this opportunity.

  • The individual has not had the opportunity to attend any previous URMIA regional or annual conferences.

  • Recipients will be asked to complete an attendee evaluation and provide a testimonial about their experience. Additional collaborations with scholarship recipients may occur at the request and approval of both parties.

Please Note

Anyone who receives a 2024 Regional Conference Scholarship is not eligible to apply for a 2024 Annual Conference Scholarship. The individual would be eligible to apply for a subsequent Annual Conference Scholarship.

 

Awards

URMIA will award eight regional conference scholarships in 2024. Recipients will be selected by the conference planning committees and notified by January 11. The award covers the individual’s registration fee.
