Rachel is the Senior Director for Risk Management and Insurance at Johns Hopkins, overseeing the insurance portfolio for the University and the Health System. As a part of her responsibilities at Hopkins, she is an active participant in the Pinnacle Risk Retention Group and currently serves as President. She also serves on the Board of the Health System's solely owned captive.
Rachel received her B.B.A. from Howard University and MBA from the University of Illinois - Urbana Champagne. She started her career at Marsh in NY working on large global property programs. She also worked at Sodexo and Legg Mason before joining Hopkins in 2016.
Rachel joined URMIA in 2017 and has volunteered by hosting meet and greet dinners, manning the welcome desk, participating in URMIA Cares and presenting sessions at the annual conferences. Most recently, Rachel hosted the Annual Conference in Baltimore in 2023. During the months of June and July, Rachel has also represented URMIA by presenting at the NACUA and CBMI conference.
In her spare time, Rachel also serves at the President of the Parent's Association her sons' high-school. She also sits on the board of a non-profit organization which provides scholarships to Baltimore City youths.
