Bio

Paul Clancy is currently the director of risk management at Boston University. Mr. Clancy has been at Boston University since 1988. Prior to that he was the risk manager for a large supermarket chain in New England. His insurance career began with his first job out of college, as a claims adjuster for Liberty Mutual. Mr. Clancy has been active with both URMIA and Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS). He was on the URMIA Board of Directors from 1992 to 1995; chaired the College and University Industry Sessions at the national RIMS conferences in 1992, 1993, and 1997; and remains active in various URMIA committees. He co-presented sessions at the national URMIA conferences in 2003, 2005, 2007, 2008, and 2011. In 2003, Mr. Clancy was named Distinguished Risk Manager by URMIA and received the award during its national conference. In 2008, Mr. Clancy was one of four International Fellows selected by URMIA to spend an insurance-intensive week in London in May. On the local RIMS level, Mr. Clancy served on the board of directors of the Massachusetts RIMS chapter for six years, including a term as president for the 1995-1996 year. Mr. Clancy earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, his Masters of Business Administration at Babson College, and also has earned his Associate in Risk Management.
