Bio

As K-State's Risk and Compliance Officer, Elliot leads the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program, manages the property and casualty insurance program, and provides ongoing risk management guidance and support to the university community to advance the university's strategic goals and mission. He is committed to fostering a risk-aware culture throughout the university and embedding effective and efficient risk management practices into the university's academic and business operations. Elliot has worked in higher education risk management for 10 years. Before moving to K-State in 2020, he was a Risk Management Specialist at Cornell University for 4 years. He previously worked for the University of Kansas's Student Involvement & Leadership Center to support student success and leadership development and as a Risk Management Specialist at Praesidium, Inc to help organizations create safe environments for youth. As an active URMIA since 2017, Elliot has served on various strategic plan task forces, presented and volunteered at multiple conferences, served as a Compliance Community champion and served as a mentor to new URMIA members. Elliot earned a bachelor's degree from TCU in 2009, a law degree from Oklahoma City University in 2012 and a master's degree from KU in 2016. He also holds multiple professional designations in risk management and enterprise risk management.
