Bio

Colorado Robertson is the Director of Risk Management at Mississippi State University (MSU) and Adjunct Professor of Risk Management and Insurance. In this role, Colorado is responsible for the University’s risk management programs, including insurance and environmental health & safety. Prior to his role at MSU, Colorado was part of the Louisiana State University (LSU) community for more than eighteen years as a student and as a leader of many of the University’s risk management initiatives serving many roles in the University’s Office of Risk Management. Colorado coordinated the exit of LSU’s insurance programs from the Louisiana State Office of Risk Management and the creation of LSU risk financing programs, resulting in significant savings for the University. As a result, Colorado was named a 2016 Risk All-Star by the Risk and Insurance Magazine. Colorado has served as a member of the URMIA Board of Directors and is currently Conference Chair for the 55th URMIA Annual Conference taking place in New Orleans, LA taking place September 28 to October 2, 2024.
