Bio

Steve Holland is retiring as chief risk officer for the University of Arizona effective 1/31/22. He is serving as a Special Risk Advsior to the CFO until retirement, wrapping up several special projects. The U of A is a public land grant university that has significant academic teaching and research programs in agriculture, medicine and biological sciences, optical sciences, and astronomy, as well as a broad spectrum of other academic programs. Mr. Holland's education includes a BA in psychology and MS in finance and safety management, both from the University of Arizona. He also holds the professional designations of Certified Risk Manager (CRM) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM). Mr. Holland is a national faculty member for the Certified Risk Managers program and previously served on the Board of the National Alliance Research Academy. Currently, Steve is a member of the Risk Management Advisory Committee for United Educators. He is a past president of URMIA in 2003-2004, co-chaired the 2013 national conference in Phoenix, AZ, and has served on various committees, conference presentations, and as part of URMIA's risk management peer review program. In 2008, he was honored with the Distinguished Risk Manager award.
