Amanda is responsible for overseeing Wheaton’s enterprise risk management, claims, environmental health and safety, and youth protection programs, while also managing day-to-day risk and insurance matters for the College’s various campuses and international programs. She joined Wheaton in September of 2020, having served as Area Assistant Vice President for over eight years at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. In that role, Amanda was often called upon as a consultant for various public entities, including numerous major universities, to provide advice and other services for their insurance and risk management programs. Amanda holds Bachelors and Juris Doctorate degrees from Baylor University. She began her professional career as an Assistant Criminal District Attorney for Tarrant County (Fort Worth) Texas, where many of her early experiences ignited her continued passion for child and youth protection, and remains licensed to practice law in Texas and Louisiana. Amanda has proudly been a member of URMIA since coming to Wheaton and is active with NACUA, CSHEMA, and HEPNet. Within URMIA, Amanda chairs the Annual Conference Newcomer Committee and serves the association on the taskforces for Strategic Goal 1 (Connect Members to Each Other), Strategic Goal 2 (Connect Members with Professional Development), and Strategic Goal 4 (Connect Our Actions to Long-Standing Values that Promote DEI). Since joining, Amanda has been a frequent speaker, volunteer, and roundtable facilitator at URMIA events and is a member of the Planning Committee for the 2024 New Orleans Annual Conference.
