Joan has more than 20 years of experience serving the insurance and risk management needs of global organizations across Higher Education. She specializes in client multinational exposures and compliance, having worked as a Senior Executive for a Global Insurance Company with expertise in compliance programs relevant to the jurisdiction of risk, the proper alignment of coverage for all travelers. Joan has helped clients develop effective strategies for coverage solutions that aligns with exposure. She has experience in assisting organizations with global health and safety issues, global crisis response plans, emergency management and business continuity programs, and International Incident process mapping. As an active member of the University Risk Management and Insurance Association she serves on the Affiliate, and International Committees. Joan has been a speaker at URMIA national and regional meetings as well as regional NAFSA meetings, CACUBO and Texas Risk Management Seminars, discussing various aspects of international travel risk and globalization issues facing higher education. Ms. Rupar is a graduate of the University of Delaware.
