Jeff Barrett serves as Sacred Heart University’s risk manager and compliance officer in the Office of General Counsel. He works with faculty, staff and administrators to identify, assess, and control institutional risks, assists with contract review, internal audit, and claims administration. He also liaises with outside counsel on claims that have escalated to litigation. Jeff is the Chair of the University’s Health and Safety Committee. Prior to his current role, he was responsible for emergency planning and logistics in the Department of Emergency Management & Public Safety at SHU where he helped the University garner various innovation awards for the use of Microsoft SharePoint as an Emergency Management tool. He holds a Masters in Criminal Justice from Sacred Heart University and was recently awarded the CRM designation through the National Alliance for Insurance and Education Research
