Stephanie Sickler is Director of Risk Management and Environmental Health and Safety at Bowling Green State University in Ohio, a role she has held for four years. In her role, Stephanie is responsible for all risk management programs and initiatives campus-wide, including policy research and development, claims management, risk financing, and contract review. She has risk oversight for over 350 registered student organizations, and administers the university-wide international travel security and health insurance program. Her position also includes oversight for the Environmental Health and Safety programs, including fire safety, lab safety and waste disposal, and occupational health training and accident investigation.
BGSU is also a member of the Inter-University Council of Ohio Risk Management & Insurance Consortium (IUC RMIC), a nonprofit corporation providing risk management and insurance programs to thirteen of the 4 year public universities in Ohio. Stephanie currently serves as the Vice Chair of the IUC RMIC Risk Management Committee, is a member of the Board of Governors and Risk Control committees, and has served on several ad-hoc committees, including Strategic Planning and Governance, and the annual risk control symposium planning committee.
Stephanie has been with BGSU since 2009, previously holding roles in Finance and Administration and Continuing Education. Prior to coming to BGSU, Stephanie spent 17 years in automotive manufacturing, the majority as a Quality Engineer and Quality Manager for a tier-one rubber sealing manufacturer. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources and a Master of Business Administration degree, both from The University of Findlay, and a Doctor of Education degree in Leadership Studies from Bowling Green State University. Stephanie earned her Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation in 2017.
