After 27 years at Ursinus College, Carol McMillin retired in June 2025 as Director of Environmental Health & Safety and Risk Management. In this role, she oversaw workplace safety, environmental compliance, insurance programs, and enterprise risk management. A URMIA member since 2015 and a CSHEMA member since 2007, Carol has been actively engaged in advancing risk management, safety, and compliance in higher education throughout her career.
Carol holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Ursinus College, a Master's degree in Environmental Protection and Safety Management from Saint Joseph's University, and the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation. She served on the University and College Insurance Consortium (UCIC) Safety Leadership Committee, including a term as President, and as an at-large board member of CSHEMA.
Carol has presented on topics including norovirus outbreak response and ergonomics programs. She also participated in an EPA-sanctioned peer environmental audit program in which Pennsylvania colleges and universities conducted audits of one another to strengthen environmental compliance and best practices.
