Ben Coffman is a senior account executive in Marsh’s Grand Rapids office. In this role, he is
responsible for his client’s service needs for multiple product lines. He has experience in all
lines of coverage including general liability, automobile, workers’ compensation, property,
umbrella liability, foreign liability, medical malpractice, educators’ legal liability, and cyber
liability. He delivers technical advice, product expertise, and comprehensive reviews of his
client’s risk, then works with the placement team to ensure the best terms, conditions,
coverage, and pricing. During the placement process, Ben is responsible for the execution of
the renewal strategy. Ben serves a diverse portfolio of clients, with a special emphasis in the
education industry.
Joining Marsh in 2022, Ben brought with him 18 years of experience in insurance and risk
management. His experience includes six years as risk manager at a public research
university, which included the operation of a captive. Additionally, Ben has seven years of
carrier experience working as a property/casualty claim representative and as a claim
manager.
