Bio

Samantha joined the University of Massachusetts (UMass) President's Office in August 2024 as an Enterprise Risk Management Analyst. In her role she is responsible for risk identification, assessment, and implementing, utilizing and enhancing the MATRX© risk mitigation tool. Her efforts are central to promoting a culture of proactive risk management and transparency at the university, aligning operational processes with safety and compliance standards. Alongside her primary duties, Samantha is a leader of the Young Professionals Community (YoPro) within URMIA. Here, she promotes innovation, collaboration, and mentorship among emerging risk management professionals. Samantha earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, with a focus on Public Health and Emergency Management from UMass and is currently enhancing her expertise by pursuing a Master of Science in Business Analytics at the Isenberg School of Management, UMass. Before assuming her current position, Samantha accumulated over eight years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety at UMass Amherst, working as an Administrative Assistant/Program Coordinator. Her extensive involvement with risk management protocols and regulatory compliance has provided her with a thorough understanding of the complexities of managing risks within a large educational setting.
