Kayla Campbell is the Compliance and Risk Manager at Saint Louis University, where she launched the University's enterprise risk management program in 2023. In this role, she launched SLU's inaugural ERM assessment, and navigated significant institutional leadership transition—while building stakeholder engagement and establishing risk governance structures. Kayla transitioned to higher education from a legal career that includes commercial litigation defense and and legal operations at a national bank. She holds a J.D. from the University of Arkansas and a B.A. in English from Drury University. She also spent three years teaching ESL in Taiwan, an experience that strengthened her ability to communicate across diverse audiences. A self-described storyteller who has never met a stranger, Kayla is passionate about practical communication strategies, building strong working relationships across organizational silos, and helping non-experts engage with complex concepts. She is a Midwest Princess - and lives in St. Louis with her husband and dog. When not facilitating ERM, she can usually be found reading, attending a jam band concert, or hanging out lakeside.
